Da Nang: Beaches, Coworking, and Finding the Pergola

Okay, yeah, that just really didn't work. I just couldn't keep trying to find better places to stay and deal with the pollution at the same time. So here I am. I jumped on a plane and landed in Da Nang in Central Vietnam. This place is famous as a remote working location for people to come to, and it's reputed for also having less air pollution. I can see that already.
I have to say it's already proven to be a much better place to work from. Here are some shots of me finding my way around the beaches.
I've also taken to taking nighttime strolls along here too, and finding my favourite food spots.
I started mostly working from my hotel room, but there are quite a few co working spaces here. And once I found one that I liked, it definitely became easier to just get a desk and a chair in the co working space. It costs like 12 dollars to sit there the whole day, and you can stay quite late. It actually took a whole bunch of experimentation to find where in Da Nang along the beach I actually wanted to stay. And it turns out that I'm right near the co working space with my favorite hotel, which is called the Pergola. It's basically a short walk from this hotel over to the Seaview Coworking space, where I buy a desk and get settled in.
It's taken me about five hotels to find this one as my favorite. All of them have problems. There's either mosquitoes that get let into the rooms, or the bathroom smells, or they're too dirty. But the Pergola is perfect. It's around the same price as all the other hotels, but all the rooms are actually really, really nice. I've stayed in two rooms now already, and there's no problem with them. I'm really racing just to finish my deliverables so I can go and explore Da Nang properly, but every time I think I'm going to be finished, I end up extending my stay another three days because I realize I'm going to need it. As a result, I've actually got really comfortable living here in Da Nang. I know where my favorite food place is. I know where the beach is. I know where the brewery is. The only thing I'm missing is a gym.
Anyway, one of these days now I'll finish my deliverable and I'll be able to continue along on the journey by heading down to Hoi An and then seeing where else in Vietnam I want to check out. Stay tuned.
