Happo One was the next resort I visited, after regaining my confidence (and bruising my rib) at Goryu and Happo 47.
This resort hosts the Nagano Games’ Olympic ski run, along with many other intermediate runs. I was excited to do them all and was pleasantly surprised at the substantially lower crowd numbers at this resort.
I mean just look at the view from this place – such a stunning place to be snowboarding on a beautiful clear day like this.
I was able to do some amazing intermediate runs which let me start testing my skills and confidence. Was so happy to be getting down them with a fair amount of speed, especially after a few warm-up runs.
I actually think I had more trouble running the green smooth runs where you had to go ‘straight’ for a while. I remember this was challenging from the last time I snowboarded too. You always want to keep grip on one face when you’re travelling along, and so it can be tricky and require a lot of balance changes from heel-side to toe-side.
This about wraps up the ski portion of the trip – but you bet I am just so keen for a follow up ski-trip – watch this space!
