The lakeside town of Lazise is situated on the south eastern part of Lake Garda about an hour’s bicycle from my base at Pescheria Della Garda.
It’s my favourite little Lake Garda town so far, and based on the number of visitors here for sunset I think there’s a consensus. Here’s the view on approach to the town and the castle complex.
It’s got a beautiful vibe in the town square and it seems to accommodate the crowds a little better than Sirmione.
I made it in time to get a stunning view of the sunset and then settled in for a pizza and a Hugo Spritz.
This was just a little planning trip to get a feel for what the terrain would be like for a full day of bike riding up the east side of Lake Garda would be like – but it turned out to be a great evening aided by the fantastic lakeside sunsets. Now that the planning is done, I’m ready for a full adventure right up the east of Lake Garda, tune in next time for that.
