Dark Light

A big part of the appeal of Lake Garda was that it represented a rest for my sore feet and was a great location to tour by bike. So with the help of my amazing Italian friends we planned a trip to visit another Tibetan Bridge with views of the Lake and an accompanying tour up the eastern side of the lake.

We started out by going past Lazise (this time in the daytime) and making our way to the town of Cisano.

After a brief stop in Bardolino for some lunch, we continued to progress through towns Garda and Torre del Benaco until we eventually arrived at the parking for the Tibetan Bridge.

This was where we were required to dismount in order to make the brief hike up to the Tibetan Bridge. The Bridge offered incredible views of the lake and was a great little intermission to our cycling adventure.

By the time we made it back to Pescheria del Garda we’d done an incredible bike ride of over 60km. Here’s the rough route we followed.

Although it was busy, the ride was a great way to get a feel for what Lake Garda has to offer. Lots of camping grounds and lakeside restaurants and venues. The towns each have their own little charms (and castles, many of them), and were very popular during this hot weather.

That’s Tibetan Bridge No.2 done and dusted – I think we’ll leave it there for now – there are a few more but we have our eyes on an even bigger bike adventure. Stay tuned for that as I head back towards Veneto one last time this trip.
