Dark Light

As Italy’s largest lake, Lake Garda is a popular holiday spot for all of Europe in summer – there’s so much to do here.

Following my modus operandi of performing the most adventurous feats I could find, I checked how long it would take to do the whole lake by bike. Its about an 80km ride from Pescheria di Garda (the town where I’m staying) and the town at the other end. That’s about the upper limit of what you’d want to ride in a day, so it’s not really viable to do a return trip circumnavigating the lake by bike. Instead, I’m planning to hire bikes most days and visit all of the various towns here as well as perhaps sneak in a visit to Garda’s Tibetan Bridge.

Here’s the views around Pescheria della Garda.

It’s very picturesque, and gives ‘by the sea’ vibes even with its mountainous backdrop.

Every kilometer there’s a new set of lakeside bars and marinas bustling with activity in the summer afternoons. The sunset was certainly a sight to behold.

I won’t be able to run out of things to do here, it’s just a matter of seeing how many days I can actually fit in with activity – I do want to take it easy and rest a bit here, so we’ll see how it turns out.
