Prague is famous for its Castle complex and it doesn’t disappoint with stunning views of the city.
The architecture is amazing here and the scale of how big the buildings are is hard to capture with words or photos.
I’ve hired E-Scooters here about 10 times, they are everywhere and it’s easy and relatively inexpensive to get around. A few times I would just keep blazing around on the scooters and forget to navigate; such a great way to get a feel for the city. Eventually I made my way through Old Town which, although touristy, has a great vibe and amazing food and beer options.
This is a short stay as part of this cities of Europe leg of my trip where I’m aiming to get a feel for each place just to understand what’s on offer for possible future deep dives.
In truth I’m having a bit of travel fatigue here and it’s feeling like this leg is not going to live up to my expectations. But I’m committed to seeing it through and making my way further into northern Europe. It’s like that sometimes when all the little mishaps weigh on you and you feel like your holiday is presenting as many challenges as a job would. You can throw money at your problems (and you have to), but it just makes the whole thing bitter and you need to retreat to some fun to remember why you’re travelling in the first place.
My idea for a solution is to probably dial back the pace just a little bit and book maybe two weeks ahead instead of just the few days at a time that I’ve been currently booking. This means my itinerary will change even from what I thought it would be last week; but it’s all part of growing as a traveller. I’m learning what I enjoy and what I don’t.
