Dark Light

It’s time to leave the hot summer days of Naples and the adventures around this incredible city living in the shadow of the sleeping giant of Mount Vesuvius.

Naples has been the centerpiece of this particular trip because of the enthusiasm I had towards seeing the ‘other side of Italy’ that I didn’t get to see in my previous trip. However, things are far from over and although it feels like I’ve lived a month in just the two weeks since I arrived in Italy; there is much more to come.

To reflect on my time here I took a seaside walk as the sun went down – here’s how that went.

I continued along the esplanade to a beach I was trying to reach with my fellow explorers, which we eventually found were good for some beautiful afternoon shots.

As the sun began to set we then made the journey back to the hostel for a night full of Limoncello and Aperol Spritzes.

It’s been an incredible place to visit; the amazing outdoor adventures, the Amalfi Coast and my adventures up Mount Vesuvius and around Salerno and Sorrento. It’s also been a great social experience, really easy to meet people here and plan day trips, a very social city to be sure.

I’m not sure when I might return to this place, but if I never do I can say for certain I saw and did things here many people never will.

I’m setting off early in the morning to a new destination – stay tuned for the next update to see where I land.
