Dark Light

Asolo is a picturesque little town in the province of Treviso in the Veneto region. It’s a famous location because of its beautiful architecture and its mountainous countrysides and beautiful views over the horizon from many angles. It sounded like the perfect place for a lunch and some great photos.

After getting acquainted with the town we moved towards the Torre Civica (which I believe is the Town Square building) and took in some of the views there.

After a beautiful quiet lunch, we decided to take the climb up to ‘La Rocca’ or ‘the Fortress’ which offers a panoramic view of the whole region.

You can get a full 360 degree view from this vantage point, and even though it was a bit foggy from the heat it still made for some amazing photos.

Such a beautiful day trip to a really different location. I think we also picked the right time to go as well – on a Sunday afternoon where it wasn’t so busy. It’s nice to get to these places where its different and not so touristy, a big contrast from Venice which it seems is more crowded this year than any year before because of pandemic revenge traveling.

Excited to see more of Veneto as I progress through this leg of the trip.
