Dark Light

Starting with a train ride from my hostel to Trastavere, I took a wander through the streets to see what this popular tourist suburb looks like. There are plenty of streets with little shops to walk through and the neighbourhood has a lot more trees than other places.

Trastavere is then only a short walk over to the Belvedere di Giancolo which has sweeping views of the whole city, as you can see from the pictures below.

My walk took me all the way through to Ponte Sisto (where it started raining) then over the River Tiber and back into the main part of the city, stopping briefly at the Basilica di Sant’Andrea della Valle for a few shots.

This was a big walk which started hurting my feet a surprising amount. I’m going to need to look at some options that involve less walking – stay tuned to see how that turns out. I also want to give these posts a little more curation. So let me play with that for next time.
